Up to 1950

1927

On 01.01.1927, the lease agreement with the estate management Graf-von-Törring over the swimming pool on Wörthsee. On 15.08.1927 became the club house was opened in a festive inauguration. To support the new building, building stones could be purchased, the cost estimate for the house was 6,300 Marks. It became additionally a boat dock was built and a rescue boat was purchased. The swimming pool fee was 0.50 Marks per month. Text excerpt from the Jahn-timejournal in February 1927. „When I look back on the swimming excursions and the past summer, we always looked for a place according to our wishes again, but never really found what we all wanted. In addition, there were the difficulties of changing clothes, addressing the gendarmes about the swimsuits - without leg lining - and if Peter suddenly let the clouds fall, there were also wet clothes ... Now dear members, the fulfillment of this wish can happen. In the future, we will buy a ticket to Seefeld, walk calmly for 20 minutes through a beautiful shady forest and then stand at its edge in front of our place. In a width of 100 meters parallel to the lake shore and in a length of 60 meters lies in front of us a gently sloping grassy area, interrupted by tree groups that provide shade and delightful young forest. Every nature-loving sun lover must be filled with joy over this ideal location for our purposes, and the enthusiasm for an intensive participation in the further development of this health-promoting facility. We primarily require the punctual payment of our swimming pool fee of 0.50 M per month. Whoever is still able to support our goal through further financial and material donations will help in a grateful way to quickly complete the facility.

1932

In July, the swimming spot, Moorgrundstück in the deepest forest, was purchased for 6000 Reichsmark by the club. Since the association did not have enough money, member Edmund Hörbuger provided a loan. After eight years, the property was paid off. Sudden death of the president Fritz Sorg.

1933

On August 6th, the 1st Lake Crossing Swim was held at the small island at Wörthsee. Eleven men and one woman swam 2.4 km. They started from the property, swam to the red-white buoy at the island and back. Rudi-Haringer and Rafi Pölzl were the winners.

1934

On July 8th, the 2nd Lake Crossing Swim took place at the property, this time ten men, four women and on the half-distance ten male youths started. Winner: Josef Seidl (Men), Rafi Wastian (Women), Gansl Wohlmuth (Boys)

1935

The annual Wörthsee- Lake Crossing Swim is renamed after the death of the swimmer and mountaineer Rudi Haringer as the „Rudi-Haringer-Gedächtnisschwimmen“. On August 2nd, 1934, the talented 19-year-old swimmer and winner of the 1st Lake Crossing Swims, was involved in an accident during the first ascent of the Grand Jourasse Nordwand (Monte Rosagruppe). On September 1st, ten men, fifteen male youths and six boys started. The youth Edi Binegger (Youth) won the race. Laundorff (Men), G.J. Schüller (Boys)

1936

The 4th Lake Crossing Swim „Rudi-Haringer-Gedächtnisschwimmen“, took place on July 26th, with six male youths and five boys participating. On September 13th, six men swam their race. Winners: Edi Binegger (Men), Ludwig Kräh (Youth), Rudi Neumaier (Boys).

1937

On August 29th, the 5th Lake Crossing Swim „Rudi-Haringer-Gedächtnisschwimmen“ started, eight men in two men's classes and twelve youths in two youth classes swam the 2.4 km. One woman, one female youth and one youth started the half-distance. Winners: Karlheinz Sievert (Men 1), H. Winterholler (Men 2), Paul Ganslmeier (Youth 1 and fastest time), Max Hofstetter (Youth 2), R. Obermeier (Women), Waltraut Gabriel (Youthweibl.), Frühwein.

1938

At 25 degrees, on August 7th, the 6th Lake Crossing Swim „Rudi-Haringer-Gedächtnisschwimmen“ started. Seven men and fifteen male youths swam 2.4 km, three women and three female youths rowed to the island and swam back. Winners: Paul Ganslmeier (Youth A), Edi Binegger (Men), Otto Stocker (Youth B), RafiWolf (Women) Toni Illing (Youth weibl.)

1939

At 11 am on the morning of August 27th, four men and twelve male youths started on the long distance, and six women, one female youth, and one female sports service group on the half distance. Winners: Ludwig Steitz (Men), G. Christ (Male Youth), Mariela Stupf (Women), Toni Illing (Female Youth), Marie Neuner.

1940

The mortgage was paid off and the swimming area at Wörthsee became the final property of the SCW. On July 28th at 11:30 am, the 8th Lake Crossing Swim of the "Rudi-Haringer Memorial Swim" started in the war year. Six men and nine male youths swam 2.4 km, and the nine women swam 1.2 km. Winners: Alois Janss (Men 1), Maurer (Men 2), Otto Sauerer (Youth), J. Surmann (Women 1), Toni Illing, Frau Stüpf (Women 2)

1939 - 1945

Second World War

1947

After the war, the club house served as a refugee shelter until 1947. It is thanks to the initiative of Max Stockers that the club house was handed back to the SCW in the summer of 1947. Start on July 13th: "For the first time after the war, the idea arose this year to continue the series of the "Rudi-Haringer Memorial Swims" and thus revive the tradition of the pre-war era. However, the poor food situation made it impossible to start the full distance. For this reason, a swim was organized on a smaller scale (half distance for all participants). With the large boat of the Freier Wassersport swimming club, eleven swimmers traveled to the island, where the start took place. Winners: Kahnhuber (Men), Inge Kobras (Women), Hindenburg (Male Youth), Dietl (Female Youth), Zapf (Boys). After the war, Inge Schmidhuber resumed the tradition of the youth summer camps at Wörthsee. These youth camps are still maintained today and are an integral part of the club's activities.

1948

Due to the prolonged rain from June 19th to the end of July and the currency reform, the Lake Crossing Swim is cancelled.

1949

On September 4th, the 10th Lake Crossing Swim of the "Rudi-Haringer Memorial Swim" took place with 46 participants. Winners: Erich Hildenberg (Men), Georg Pohl sen. (Seniors), Joseph Schmid (Disabled), Ludwig Huber (Male Youth), Peter Peller (Boys), Erika Dietl (Women), Ilse Dehn (Female Youth), Roberta Werndl (Girls).

1950

A new pier was built and donated by the Zott family. The Wörthsee extension was started and completed. The 11th Lake Crossing Swim of the "Rudi-Haringer Memorial Swim" took place with 38 participants. Winners: Hans Thurner (Men), Georg Pohl (Seniors), Ludwig Huber (Male Youth), Peter Teller (Boys), Ilse Dehn (Women), Wilhelmine Scherer (Female Youth), Ingrid Rottmeier (Girls).
