1983–1999

1984

There were again dissatisfaction and discussions between bathers and performance sports, with some wanting to get rid of the bath and others wanting to keep the performance sports. As a result, as often in the SCW history, some competition athletes left.
The SCW organizes 1st Triathlon competition on Wörthsee.

1986

The Youth A team reached 3rd place in the DMS-J National Final.

1990

The women swim for one year in the 1. Bundesliga.

1991

Christian Tröger becomes World Cup winner over 200-m freestyle and World Championship in Perth / Australia.

1992

At the Olympic Games in Barcelona, the German freestyle relay team with Christian Tröger wins bronze.

1993

Water friend Ingo Straube is the best artistic springer in Bavaria and is selected for the Landeskader nominated. Due to coaching changes, some competition swimmers are leaving. Nevertheless, the league can be retained in DMS in Karlsruhe.
Andreas Hessenland is heading to Jugendeuropameisterschaft in Istanbul, after he became German age group champions in 200-m-relay.
Additionally, the newly formed "Masters" Müller, Tröger (senior), Hauger, Schuh, Götz, Bauer, Nowotny are collecting successes on national and international level. Successful also the Unterwasserrugby-Abteilung: Swim Secretary Niki Baerens is nominated for the National Team of the European Championships.

1994

The women's team with Szalai, Hufnagel, Weiß and Habereder swims in both backstrokerelays Bavarian Records. Silvia Szalai can crack the club records of Doris Wiebke as the first water friend.
The triathletes who train with the Water Friends also celebrate successes: Anita Brückner qualifies for the Ironman on Hawaii.
The Masters relay continues past successes and will be German champions in the age group (AK) 200 over 4x 50-m-breaststroke with the line-up Schuh, Götz, Tröger (sen.), Walk and over 4x 200-m-breaststroke with Walk, Götz, Tröger, Müller.

1995

Founding of the joint start group SCW München/ SV Ottobrunn On January 1, 1995. In October 1995, the clubs MSV München and VfvS München join the starting community, which then rebrands as SG Region München .
Debut in the DMS 2. Bundesliga. Silvia Szalai, an Olympic hopeful of the Water Friends, swims a hall record in Vienna and wins the prize money.
At the German Junior Championships, Andreas Hessenland wins silver and Christian Seitz wins bronze.
Senior Hans-Joachim Tröger swims a 200-m-butterfly world record in the 60+ age group.
Helmut Hauger became a two-time European champion of the Masters in Riccione in the backstroke.
The Underwater rugby team moves up from the state league.

1996

Uwe Bittner takes over the 1st competition team again.
The youth team improves: At the South German Age Group Championships the young talents Robert Spirgatis and Sebastian Mühlbauer win silver and bronze medals in the 200-m-butterfly. At the Bavarian Age Group Championships 14 medals!
Hans-Jürgen Müller wins bronze at the Senior World Championships, Marion Hillenbrand reaches 6th place.
Water Friend Tröger junior successfully represents Munich at the Olympic Games in Atlanta and wins two bronze medals with the relay team.
The Masters relay team wins its first title in the AK 240 category in Gera over 4x 50m breaststroke (Reichelt, Tröger, Spindler, Müller) and in Ülzen over 4x 200m breaststroke (Müller, Reichelt, Schuh, Tröger). Müller finishes third in the 400m medley at the World Championships in Sheffield.

1997

For the first time, a training partnership is formed under the coaches Uwe Bittner and Petra Lang from the Start Community Region Munich.
Robert Spirgatis wins at the South German Age Group Championships Bronze in the 200-m breaststroke.
Ironman Hawaii - Thilo Münsch secured a Kona slot and is traveling to the Ironman in Hawaii. He finished in 10:57,37 h.
The youth of the Wasserfreunde were again the most successful in the area of Munich - 27 medals at the Upper Bavarian Championships . Bavarian Age Group Championships.
The most successful SCW athlete was Dominik Poethen with three gold and two silver medals.
The Schwimmclub Wasserfreunde München is the first Munich swimming club to be represented in the Internet .

1997-2001

The "Silver Arrows" of the Masters dominate in the AK60 and AK65 in the breaststroke events. They win with almost monotonous regularity at German Championships in the AK 240, securing the 4x 50-m and 4x 200-m breaststroke relays and top positions in individual races. Mixed relays with Isolde Müller, Hans-Jochaim Tröger, Frieda Perathoner and Richard Götz win German Masters titles in Berlin.

1999

DMS - Ladies and Gentlemen start in the Bayernliga.
In May the starting team breaks up and a complete competition team leaves the SCW.
Elvir Mangafic takes over the 1. competition team. Katja Ohlig now participates as the only female SCW swimmer in the Southern German championships Schwimmclub Wasserfreunde München von 1912 e. V. and reaches over 100-m Butterfly the 3rd place.
1 girl and 7 boys drive to the Southern German Age Group Championships to Heidelberg. At the German age group championships take part in: Verena Schmidt, Benjamin Bange, Andor Geller, Robert Spirgatis and Simon Weinberger.
Ironman Hawaii - Brigitte Rehm secured a Kona slot and is traveling to the Ironman in Hawaii. She finished in 12:09:13 h.
Upper Bavarian Age Group Championships – 6 championship titles and 11 runner-up positions.
Bavarian age group championships – a championship title by Simon Weinberger in the 100-m backstroke, runner-up title for Marko Leljak in the 200-m backstroke and four bronze medals
