Opening of the Nordbad on 28.04.1951. For the opening of the Nordbad, the club newsletter stated: „Entrance locked by a gold-embroidered gatekeeper. City councilor Wiegele wanted to enter to take over the bad as the responsible city official. The gatekeeper refused him entry despite Wiegele's explanations. The opening of the Nordbad is threatened to fail. As a result, Wiegele (1.90m) committed a violent act. The gatekeeper with his gold-embroidered uniform was pushed aside.“
On 23 May 1951, the Water Friends moved back into the Nordbad and opened their regular Wednesday evening. Horst Heinke took over the freestyle and backstroke swimmers, the breaststroke swimmers remained with Josef Gantschnig, finally there was a female swimmer, Lore Bausch, who swam the 100-m breaststroke in 1:19.9 minutes.

Club match against the Berlin Schwimmverein Schöneberg. Horst Heinke showed his former club how strong the Munich club had become. The age difference within the SCW team ranged from 15-year-old Reinhard Siewert to 36-year-old Hans Thurner. Butterfly swimming was recognized by the World Swimming Federation as the fourth official swimming style. The FINA was forced to take this step to make a clear distinction from the traditional breaststroke style.

1954

Hans Thurner, Prietzschk, Lehmann, and Kohlbauer were awarded Bavarian vice-champions over 4x 100-m backstroke in Würzburg.
Victor Weiß and Reinhard Siewert traveled to the German Championships in Bad Kissingen. Siewert reached 7th place in the final over 200-m butterfly. Christmas party in the Salvatorkeller.

1955

Hans-Joachim Tröger switched to the Wasserfreunde, also Ludwig Huber came back to SCW.
German Championships in Lemgo: Reinhard Siewert came fifth in the 200-m butterfly, Georg Altmann participated in the 1.500-m freestyle, and Hans-Joachim Tröger swam the 200-m breaststroke.
The youth Hermann Lotter started for the first time for SCW in Pörnbach. 17th place at the MDS (DSV team championships) with 17.807 points.

1956

Bavarian champions in Regensburg were the breaststroke relay Fritz Bingießer, Hans Hoser, Ludwig Huber, and Hans-Joachim Tröger.
Bavarian champion in the 100-m freestyle was Marga Dillinger in 1:10,8 minutes. 8th place at the MDS (DSV team championships) with 20.950 points.
In dolphin swimming, the freestyle beat the crawl.
6th place for Hans-Joachim Tröger in the 200-m breaststroke and 8th place for the men's 4x100-m medley relay at the German Championships in Hamburg. 2nd place at the Munich Club Championship.

1957

366 members, of which 116 men, 70 women, 81 male youth, 31 female youth, 36 boys, 32 girls
At the South German Championships in Bingen, Marga Dillinger came third in the 100-m freestyle. Participation at the MDS (DSV team championships) with 23.640 points. Tröger swam for the first time 2:44 minutes in the 200-m breaststroke, Lotter became the SCW dolphin hope, and Reinhard Siewert was the star of the team and responsible for the most points.
With a total time of 13:14,0 minutes, the 1st German record with the 10 x 100-m breaststroke relay enters the SCW history. Fred Prietzschk, Ludwig Exler, Ludwig Huber, Fritz Uhrich, Fritz Bingießer, Hans Hoser, Viktor Beutler, Reinhard Siewert, Richard Götz, and Hans-Joachim Tröger with the 10 x 100 meter breaststroke relay.
The SCW was thus well known in Germany and was invited to the swimming resort Karlsruhe for a large club competition. There they unfortunately lost their German relay record, but won the butterfly competition over 10 x 100 m. At the 29-minute 10 x 200-m breaststroke relay, the closing swimmers of both teams, irritated by the enthusiastic applause, already finished after 150 m in the head-to-head race. Siewert reacted faster, swam on and won the victory for the SCW.
Fourteen days later, the breaststroke relay swam in Munich in convincing 12:56,4 minutes, setting a new German record in the 10 x 100-m breaststroke. The record swimmers received an honorary letter from the mayor Thomas Wimmer. Lotter (picture left) and Tröger started for Team Bayern at competitions in Czechoslovakia.

1958

2nd place at the final of the MDS (DSV team championships, now called DMS) with 23.012 points. Hans-Joachim Tröger and Hermann Lotter were nominated for the German national team. At the South German Championships in Ludwigshafen, Hermann Lotter won the 200-m butterfly in 2:27,9 minutes and thus became the 1st South German champion of the SCW. On the same day, the next championship title went to the medley relay with Graf, Tröger, Lotter, and Altmann. Also in Darmstadt, the SCW's 4 x 200-m breaststroke relay won the South German championship title.
At the German Championships in Gelsenkirchen, the SCW team won the German championship title for the first time. Hans-Joachim Tröger became the German runner-up in the 200-m breaststroke final, and at the European Championships in Budapest, he reached 7th place.

The press celebrates Munich as the German swimming capital, at the reception of the most successful athletes in the city hall, the water friends always form the largest group. Hans-Joachim Tröger swam the German record over 200-m breaststroke in 2:36.8 minutes and became German indoor champion in Bremerhaven. Hermann Lotter swam the German record in 100-m butterfly in 1:02.6 minutes. At the German championships in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, the breaststroke relay won with Bingießer, Frieling, Uhrich and Tröger. The German title in the 4 x 100-m butterfly relay also went to the SCW (Peter Kübler, Egbert Dumpfe, Reinhard Siewert, Hermann Lotter), as well as over 200-m breaststroke to Tröger and in butterfly to Lotter. With four German titles, the SCW celebrated its greatest triumph.
American training methods came to the SCW and the swimmers became more like weightlifters. Hans-Joachim Tröger became student world champion in Turin over 200-m breaststroke and team leader of the German national team.
The new club newspaper appeared this year.

Women's coach is Ebeling, Men's coach is Horst Heinke, 20.701 points at the MDS. Tröger became German indoor champion again on 200-m breaststroke in Cologne, as well as the medley relay with Rehn, Tröger, Lotter and Woryna. Additionally, Tröger swam in Malmö, Sweden with a world best time on a 25-m pool in 2:34.2 minutes. Tröger, Lotter and Weber were nominated for the Olympic squad. Hermann Lotter qualified for the Olympic Games in Rome with a new German record in the 100-m butterfly, unfortunately the German relay failed in the preliminary round in Rome. With the plane, the SCW team went to the German championships in Berlin. The butterfly relay with Weber, Siewert, Lotter and Altmann won third place. The breaststroke relay with Hans-Peter Stoltenberg, Hans-Jürgen Müller, Fritz Uhrich and Hans-Joachim Tröger won the German title in a new German record time. The Erwin Sietas-Wanderpreis remained in the final possession of the water friends. Hermann Lotter won the German title again. The medley relay also won the SCW in a new German record time with Karl-Ludwig Rehn, Hans-Joachim Tröger, Hermann Lotter and Peter Woryna. Thus, three German titles went to the SCW.
The Südbad was reopened and a warm water facility was installed in the Dantebad.

1961

New FINA rule: In butterfly swimming, symmetry of the legs is no longer required from now on. 24.441 points at the MDS and thus qualification for the final, where the three strongest clubs from the federal territory may participate. 19 water friends traveled to Karlsruhe and won third place. At the German indoor championships in Dortmund, Tröger came third. The SCW team was invited to an international championship in Egypt. 11 water friends flew for three weeks to Athens, then went by ship to Egypt. The German championships shortly after in Reutlingen went with five German titles to the SCW. Relay champions in 4 x 100-m butterfly with a new German record in 4:25.4 minutes. The breaststroke relay with Armin Greiner, Hans-Jürgen Müller, Jan Gross and Hans-Joachim Tröger also won in German record time. The 4 x 100-m medley relay went to Helmut Hauger, Hans-Joachim Tröger, Herman Lotter and Horst Weber. The individual title over 200-m breaststroke went to Jan Gross, 200-m butterfly to Hermann Lotter. The German championships were broadcast on television and showed the SCW as the most successful team.
In the meantime, training evenings were held in the Nordbad, Südbad, Volksbad and in the newly built Westbad in Dasing.

50-Year Anniversary of the Club: Idealism carries the great work. German Championships in Dortmund: The Breaststroke Relay with Schulz, Müller, Gross, and Tröger won the German Championship for the fifth time in a row with a new German Record. 2nd place for Jan Gross over 100-m Breaststroke and victory for Vulpes, Rehn, Siewert, and Lotter in the 4 x 100-m Butterfly Relay. The 10 x 100-m Breaststroke also went with the 35th German Record to SCW.
Looking Back: Hans-Joachim Tröger was in the national team 11 times, and Hermann Lotter brought it to nine international competitions. The women's team won third place at the MDS. Unfortunately, the public bath had to be closed due to technical operational problems.

1963

Shadow Year at SCW: despite all sporting successes, there were disturbances. The board Ernst Lehnert wanted to form a modern swimming large club, created by the merger of Munich traditional clubs, with its own fully available training and meeting facility. The vision remained a dream, and the previous board member Lehnert stepped down during the election. There was an extraordinary members' meeting: Rohrnetzkanal Committee, usage measures, lease at Wörthsee were rejected by the meeting, and a temporary board was appointed.
